Il kimono è un indumento tradizionale giapponese, che potreste aver visto nei film ambientati in Estremo Oriente. 

Disegnato a forma di T, ha maniche squadrate e un corpetto rettangolare che cade a cascata ed è fissato al corpo con una fascia o una cintura.

La parola kimono è composta da ki (indossare) e mono (cosa). 

La tradizione vuole che venga indossato avvolgendo il lato sinistro su quello destro, a meno che chi lo indossa non sia deceduto. 

In questo caso, l'avvolgimento avviene al contrario.

Stile e regole per indossare un kimono

• COSA FARE
• Se avete voglia di mettere un kimono lungo ma siete minute, indossatelo con zeppe o tacchi alti per aggiungere qualche centimetro in più. Siete più amanti del casual? Provate i kimono lunghi fino ai fianchi, indossati con le vostre scarpe da ginnastica preferite per dare un tocco in più ai vostri look quotidiani . Oppure aggiungete un tocco finale a un look total black fatto di jeans e t-shirt aggiungendo un kimono stampato; è perfetto per un appuntamento o una cena fuori!

• Se avete un fisico a mela o una fisicità ovale, evitate di indossare il kimono chiuso; indossarlo aperto dona a quasi tutte le figure, in quanto aggiunge verticalità al look. Se cercate un effetto snellente, cercate anche di evitare le maniche a pipistrello, perché le opzioni leggermente più aderenti tendono ad apparire più lusinghiere, evitando di aggiungere volume dove non ce n'è bisogno.  Non abbiate paura di provare tessuti dal tocco lussuoso, come il raso, e scegliete colori e stampe che diano aria e luce ai vostri outfit. Vi sentite coraggiose? The kimono is a traditional Japanese garment, and you might have spotted them on films based in the Far East. 

Designed in a T-shape, it has square sleeves and a rectangular bodice that falls like a waterfall and is fastened to the body with a sash or belt.

The word kimono is composed of ki (to wear) and mono (thing). 

And tradition says that it should be worn by wrapping the left ribbon over the right, unless the wearer is deceased. 

In this case, the wrapping is done the other way round.

• If you think of yourself as having more of an apple or oval body shape, avoid wearing your kimono closed; wearing it open flatters almost every figure as it adds a verticality to your looks. If you are looking for a slimming effect, try to stay away from batwing sleeves as slightly more fitted options tend to look more flattering by avoiding extra volume where you don’t need it Don't be scared to try fabrics in a luxurious feel, such as satin, and choose colours and prints to bring air and light to your outfits.
