Rodarte è tornata alla NYFW facendo ciò che sa fare meglio: look sognanti ed eterei; questa volta, però, ha preso una piega più dark, richiamando alla mente i suoi costumi per Il Cigno Nero.

Ma il marchio americano non è stato l'unico ad affrontare il tema: anche Adeam e Sandy Liang, tra gli altri, lo hanno affrontato con coccarde, dettagli di ispirazione vittoriana, pizzi e altro ancora.

La sartoria, che si tratti di un abito o di una giacca, è sinonimo di forza, ma anche di stabilità.

Ma non si applicano più gli stessi codici di abbigliamento di potere di una volta.

Rodarte returned to NYFW doing what it does best: dreamy, ethereal looks—only this time, it took a darker turn, calling to mind its costumes for Black Swan.

The American brand wasn’t the only one to take on the theme, though—Adeam and Sandy Liang, among others, also touched on it with rosettes, Victorian-inspired details, lace, and more.

Tailoring, whether it be a dress or a jacket, is about strength, but it’s also about being held. No longer do the same power dressing codes apply.

While the popularity of tailoring on and off the catwalk is not to be dismissed, the rise of romantic styles is reflective of the new ways in which women are choosing to dress - in a way that makes them feel strong and confident.

Emilia Wickstead’s sophisticated, feminine dresses come with an architectural twist, while Cecilie Bahnsen’s pretty pastel looks are juxtaposed with sculptural shapes.
