Il dibattito che stiamo vivendo, come società, sul potere e sul genere, sull'identità e sulla politica, è strettamente correlato all'abbigliamento e al design della moda, perché la creazione, la sensazione e la proiezione di questi sono associate a ciò che abbiamo da dire, a ciò che rappresentiamo e a come vogiamo apparire. 

Il tipo di abbigliamento che fa sentire sicuro di sè ogni individuo è soggettivo, dipende da come si sente con se stesso, da come concepisce la sicurezza e da come questo si traduce in texture, silhouette e sensazione degli abiti sul proprio corpo.

Ebbene: la domanda di abiti romantici è in aumento. L'anno scorso, i modelli con maniche a palloncino e in generale camicette e bluse sono diventati subito un successo estivo.

Le maison tradizionali come Valentino, Miu Miu e Chloe, che hanno il romanticismo nel loro DNA, hanno adottato un approccio molto più classico a questo, grazie a raffinati abbellimenti e all'uso di rouches e pizzi. 

E stiamo iniziando a vedere questo stile filtrare anche nei lavori degli stilisti più contemporanei che hanno aggiunto il loro tocco moderno alla tendenza.

Abbiamo vissuto a lungo con l'athleisure, l'abbigliamento sportivo e gli stili mascolini, quindi forse molti designer stanno reagendo alla nuova voglia di sentirsi femminili e belle in un abito... 

Insomma, si tratta di trovare la femminilità e la bellezza in un modo nuovo.

The conversations we're having as a society about power and gender, identity and politics, closely relate to clothing and fashion design because creating, feeling and projecting power is associated with what we have to say, what we stand for, and how we appear. 

What kinds of clothing makes any given individual feel powerful is subjective, dependent on how they feel about themselves, how they conceive of power and how that translates into textures, silhouette and the feel of clothes on one's body.

The demand for romantic dresses is increasing. Last year, the balloon-sleeved, smocked styles at new brands became an instant summer hit.

we have seen romantic styles evolve as the demand continues to increase throughout the industry;

Traditional fashion maisons such as Valentino, Miu Miu and Chloe, where romance is part of their DNA, take much more of a classic approach to romance through their exquisite embellishments and use of ruffles and lace. 

We’re also now starting to see the style filter into more contemporary designers who are adding their own modern twist to the trend.

We’ve had a long time with athleisure, sportswear and masculine styles, so maybe a lot of designers are reacting against that I feel feminine and beautiful in a dress... It’s about finding femininity and beauty in a new way.
