Secondo il nostro idolo Y2K preferito, Paris Hilton, la moda dei primi anni 2000 è semplicemente  oltre. 

E, al di là degli ovvi disastri di stile, la Gen-Z sta riportando in auge queste tendenze, ma con un twist tutto suo. 

Infatti, nonostante le sperimentazioni e gli errori (come abbinare minigonne troppo piccole a praticamente ogni canotta esistente o indossare jeans a vita bassa con magliette grafiche e cappellini da camionista....), all'epoca non sembravamo mai riuscire ad afferrare del tutto il look giusto. 

Eppure oggi, con nostro disappunto, ogni superstar ventenne su TikTok che indossa questa estetica sfacciata e controversa appare favolosa. 

E, mentre già pensavamo che lo stile Y2K sarebbe potuto essere apprezzato da pochi, i nostri A-lister preferiti, tra cui Bella Hadid e Dua Lipa e molti designer internazionali, sostengono a tutta forza la tendenza Y2K, che pare continuerà a regnare sovrana per tutto il 2022. 

Prendete Miu Miu per esempio: mentre Miuccia Prada è rinomata per il suo atteggiamento da "ragazza perbene", quando ha disegnato per la collezione Primavera/Estate 2022 di Miu Miu, deve aver avuto in mente le Bratz . 

Le collezioni con orli strimiziti e top super cropped stanno inaugurando una nuova era di ineguagliabile sfacciataggine. 

Questa rinascita pone una domanda molto importante: come indossare questa tendenza e riuscire a starci davvero bene? 

Bè, per fortuna, lo stile Y2K 2.0 ha riportato in auge solo i migliori punti di un gruppo di trend piuttosto discutibile e, considerando che abbiamo già fatto una prova indossando questo stile nei primi anni 2000, dovrebbe essere più semplice di quanto pensiamo riuscire a reinterpretarlo nel modo giusto.

In the words of our favourite Y2K idol Paris Hilton, the early 2000s fashion is so beyond.

Besides the obvious styling disasters—Ashley Tisdale on the red carpet, anyone?—Gen-Z is bringing these trends back with a vengeance.

Despite the trial and error of layering too-teeny mini skirts with every tank top under the sun or wearing low waisted jeans with graphic baby tees and trucker hats, we never seemed to pull the look off.

Yet, to our chagrin, every 20-something superstar and TikTok sensation who wears this ballsy aesthetic looks fabulous.

While we thought that the Y2K style may have been contained to a fair few, our favourite A-listers including Bella Hadid and Dua Lipa and international designers are making a case for the Y2K trend to continue to reign supreme in 2022.

Take Miu Miu for instance: while Miuccia Prada is renowned for her "girl at heart" attitude when designing for the label, she must have had the Bratz girls in mind for Miu Miu's Spring/Summer 2022 collection.

The collections hip grazing hemlines and super-cropped tops are ushering a new age of unrivalled noughtiness.

This resurgence poses a very important question—how do we wear this trend and actually look good?

Thankfully, Y2K 2.0 has brought back only the best looks of a questionable bunch and considering we've already had a trial run wearing this fashion in the early 2000s it should come as second
