Seems That Dad Shirts Are Very Much Back

Le Polo Sono Tornate

Circa due mesi fa, mi sono ritrovata a gravitare verso uno stile che non mi sarei sicuramente aspettata di rivedere tornare così in voga: le polo, quelle classiche con i bottoni in alto e il collettino preppy. Non ho potuto resistere ad acquistarne subito una a righe colorate e, successivamente, ne ho aggiunta un’altra baby blue dal taglio più vintage.
Tuttavia, nonostante la mia nuova ossessione, queste magliette stanno ancora aspettando di essere indossate. 

Appena è arrivato il momento di poterle mettere infatti, non riuscivo proprio a capire come abbinarle in un modo moderno e stiloso - fino a quando, all'improvviso, questa tendenza ha iniziato a spuntare ovunque.
La “maglietta del papà”, come ad viene anche definita, ora è tornata sotto i riflettori, facendo la sua comparsa prima sulle passerelle e poi persino sui tappeti rossi. 

E, anche se fino a qualche tempo fa sarei potuta rimanere piuttosto indecisa su cosa indossare con le mie polo, da quando ho ricominciato a “studiarle” ho capito che basta a trattarle come qualsiasi altra maglia o top presenti nell’armadio.

Possono essere abbinate a jeans a zampa, gonne o infilate sotto abiti e maglie. Sono utilissime durante le mezze stagioni e, abbinate a un paio di pantaloncini e sneakers di tela, appaiono molto più chic di una semplice tee.
Insomma, grazie sia alle collezioni  primavera / estate 2020 che allo street style, ora sono più convinta che mai che la polo sarà una delle tendenze più grandi del 2020 a cui sarà difficile sottrarsi.

Sono infatti perfette per il clima primaverile, basta metterle sotto un maglione leggero, aggiungere una minigonna e scarpe da ginnastica e, via!
E poi sapete con cosa si abbinano alla perfezione? Al gilet in maglia! Altro trend da non perdere, anche se per questo magari dovremo ancora aspettare alcuni mesi ....

Ma vediamo in quali altri modi possono essere abbinate:

• Con i pantaloni stampati
• Basta aggiungerci un blazer o una giacca di pelle e avrete un look casual che funziona dal lunedì alla domenica.
• Abbinata alla gonna
• Se volete dare un tocco femminile alla vostra polo, provate con una gonna midi plissettata, e se volete rendere il look più grintoso basterà aggiungere anfibi e capi scuri.
• La Polo non deve essere necessariamente basica
• Un'opzione a righe vi sarà utile se vi piace mescolare le stampe.
• Accessoriate a piacere
• Ricordate di personalizzare questo capo. Con collane multistrato, orecchini a cerchio o anche un cappellino alla moda.

About two months ago, I found myself gravitating toward an unexpected shirt style that really I wouldn't have expected to see it come back so fashionable: polos, the classic with a few buttons up top and a classically preppy collar. 

I couldn't resist purchasing a striped one, and later, added a baby blue option to my wardrobe in more vintage style.

Still, despite my newfound obsession, these shirts sat in my drawer, shifting positions and waiting to be worn. I just couldn't figure out how to style them in a modern way — until spring 2020, when, all of a sudden, this trend began popping up everywhere.
The dad shirt, as some like to call it (considering how many a dad might've dressed as retired high school jocks in the '80s), has now made a full comeback, appearing before on runways and red carpets and then on the streets. 

And, while I might have been stumped about what to wear with my polos in the past, I've since learned to treat them like any other shirt or sweater in my closet.

They can be styled with carrot-leg jeans, skirts, or layered under dresses and sweaters. They even come in handy during those in-between months, and can be paired with a basic pair of cotton shorts and sneakers and look chic.
You don't just have to take my word for it. There's plenty of inspiration out there, thanks to both spring 2020 collections and street style. I'm now convinced that the dad shirt will be one of 2020's biggest trends, and you'll want to get on board, ASAP.
They're perfect for Spring weather, simply layer one under a light sweater, add a mini skirt and sneakers, and — boom — you're go to go.
Plus, you know what goes great with polos? Sweater vests! Another great trend of the moment! Even if for it we’ll still have to wait some months….

• Then, throw on a leather jacket and you'll have a casual outfit that'll work Monday through Sunday.
• Pair It With a Skirt
• Give your polo a feminine spin with a pleated midi, or add combat boots and darker pieces in order to dress it down.

• A striped option will come in handy if you enjoy mixing prints.
• Accessorize This Top to Your Liking
• Remember to make this piece yur own. Pile on those necklaces, add some hoops, or style it with a cap.
