TRAVEL DIARY: LE ISOLE IONIE DELLA GRECIA

Come ho precedentemente accennato, secondo me, affinchè una vacanza in barca risulti davvero godibile, soprattutto se più lunda di qualche giorno, è necessario ogni tanto “staccare” e passare qualche momento a terra.

Anche perchè le isole Ionie della Grecia offrono (qualcuna di più, qualcun'altra di meno) tantissimo oltre il mare meraviglioso: quindi vale assolutamente la pena affittare un’auto ed esplorare l’entroterra.

In auto, non solo potete visitare paesini, monumenti e godere di incredibili panorami, ma potete anche andare in tutti quei posti che con la barca sono difficili da raggiungere (tipo i fiordi) o fare il bagno  nelle riserve naturali dove l’accesso alle imbarcazioni è vietato.

Senza contare che è sulla terraferma che si sente di più “la Grecia”, per mare praticamente non fa poi molta differenza in quale Paese ci si trovi, ed è così bello godersi l’atmosfera tipica e gioiosa delle Isole Greche che sarebbe davvero un peccato rinunciarvi (bè, immagino che a questo punto si sia capito: io sono totalmente innamorata della Grecia)!

As I mentioned earlier, in my opinion, in order to relly enjoy a boat holiday, it is sometimes necessary to "disconnect" and spend a few moments on the land.

Also because the Ionian islands of Greece offer (someone more, someone else less) really a lot beyond the wonderful sea: so it is worth renting a car and for a few days exploring the hinterland.
By car, not only can you visit villages, convents and see wonderful landscapes, but you can also go to all those places that are difficult to reach by boat (such as the fjords) or swim in natural reserves where access to boats is forbidden.
Not to mention that it is on land that you feel more "the Greece", by sea it practically makes no difference in which country you are, and it is so nice to enjoy the typical and joyful atmosphere of those Islands, that it would be a real shame to give it up (well, I guess you’d understood right now: I am totally in love with Greece)!
