TRAVEL DIARY: Greek Ionian Minor Islands

 Passiamo ora a aprlare delle isole minori: in realtà sono un’infinità (e molte nemmeno mi ricordo come si chiamano) ma molto spesso sono dei veri gioielli con fondali incantevoli e scenari da cartolina.

Now let's pass to the smaller islands: in fact they are a moltitude (and many of them I do not even remember what they call) but they are often real jewels with wonderful sea bottom and  postcard scenarios.

Arkoudi e Atokos

-ITA-
Tra tutte le isolette queste sono quelle che mi sono piaciute meno. Non che non valgano, per carità: sono incantevoli, ma rispetto alle altre sono meno spettacolari sia dal punto di vista del panorama che dei colori.
In compenso i fondali della costa sono ricchissimi di pesci!

Among all the islets these are the ones I liked less. Not that they are not worth, absolutely: they are lovely, but compared to the others are less spectacular both from the viewpoint of the landscape and the colors.
On the other hand, the coasts are wonderful: deep blue water and lots of fishes!

Kalamos e Kastos

-ITA-
Le piccola isole di Kastos e Kalamos, sono un luogo magico da vedere almeno una volta nella vita, e sarà difficile non desiderare farci ritorno. Per la natura incontaminata, per gli incredibili colori, per le numerose calette costiere, per l’acqua cristallina (assolutamente da fare: il bagno al tramonto in una caletta solitaria)… per chi ama la tranquillità e la natura sono il Paradiso.

The small islands of Kastos and Kalamos are a magical place to be seen at least once in life (and it will be difficult you won’t to return there). For uncontaminated nature, for the incredible colors, for the many unspoiled coastal coves, for crystal clear water (absolutely to do: a bath at sunset in a solitary cove) ... for those who love tranquility and nature they really are Paradise on Earth.

 

Sorpios, Scorpidi e Thilia

Queste sono isole private (beati i proprietari!), e non è difficile capirlo anche da lontano perché sono le uniche isolette sulle quali si intravedono le palme e a volte anche le mega ville.
Non si può scendere a vistarle però è possibile fare il bagno in un paio di spiaggette libere e, ancorando ad una certa distanza si possono tranquillamente esploarare i bellissimi fondali.

Queste isole sono tutte e tre stupende, tutte ricoperte di una fitta vegetazione verdissima che arriva fino al mare color turchese: anche solo navigarci intorno è un piacere per gli occhi.

These are private islands (blessed owners!) 
So you can not go out to see them but you can swim in a couple of free beaches and, by anchoring to a certain distance you can see the beautiful sea bottom.
These islands are all three beautiful, all covered with a deep green vegetation that reaches up to the turquoise sea, even just navigating around is a treat for the eyes.

Madouri

Anche questa è un’Isola privata ma è davvero molto carina anche solo da guardare passandoci accanto perché è tutta verde ed ha una graziosa Chiesetta bianca propsio sul mare che si vede anche da Nidri sull’isola di Lefkada che sta proprio di fornte.

Also this is a private island but it is very pretty even just to see sailing around because it is all green and has a pretty white church just on the sea that you can also see from Nidri on the island of Lefkada.
