TREND ALERT: THE REVIVAL OF 50s ELEGANCE

La corrente di fondo di gran parte dell'offerta di tendenze del 2023 ha reso le forme drammatiche di tulle, raso e taffetà viste da Erdem, Carolina Herrera e Molly Goddard ancora più d'impatto, conferendo alle passerelle un'atmosfera molto glamour. 

Sulle passerelle ha sfilato infatti uno stile anni Cinquanta decisamente femminile, caratterizzato da abiti in stile pin-up, sottogonne e vita aderente. 

Un cenno alla moda del dopoguerra, rinnovata per il 2023. 

Bottega Veneta, Dior (con il suo New Look) e Balmain - marchi francesi e italiani - hanno celebrato lo stile anni Cinquanta.

Dopo stagioni in cui il minimalismo anni '90 ha regnato sovrano, è rinfrescante vedere un ritorno ai volumi ampi e divertenti per l'autunno/inverno 2023; come non amare l'aggiunta di dramma agli outfit con forme uniche - specialmente abiti e top graziosi, abbinati a jeans più sobri o pantaloni sartoriali per portarli nella vita di tutti i giorni?

Che si tratti degli strati di organza a pois di Harris Reed a Nina Ricci o delle plissettature a sbuffo di Gucci, nei prossimi mesi le collezioni di lusso vedranno molti pezzi di grande effetto, che senza dubbio arriveranno anche in strada.

There's a serious undercurrent running through much of 2023's trend offering, which made the dramatic shapes of tulle, satin and taffeta seen at Erdem, Carolina Herrera and Molly Goddard all the more impactful, giving the runway a glamour mood in the process. 

There was a distinctly feminine 1950s style out on the runways, noted with pin-up style dresses, petticoats, and fitted waists. 

It was a nod to post-war fashion, revamped for 2023. At Bottega Veneta, Dior (and its signature New Look), and Balmain - French and Italian brands alike - celebrated fifties style.

After seasons of slinky '90s minimalism reigning supreme, it's refreshing to see a return to flouncy and fun volume for autumn/winter 2023, how not to love to add drama to outfits with unique shapes—especially dresses and pretty tops paired with more understated jeans or streamlined trousers to bring them into everyday life. 

Whether it's layers of polka-dotted organza at Harris Reed's Nina Ricci or puffed pleating at Gucci, expect to see plenty of statement-making pieces across luxury collections in the coming months, which will no doubt trickle down to the high street as well. 

It's time to embrace the pro-frills attitude, especially during party season when this trend will really come into its own.
