 La Storia del Bianco e Nero Nella Moda

Ogni stagione ha il suo bianco e nero. Soprattutto nella storia della moda. 

La dicotomia di questi due colori/non colori che sembrano non esistere ma sono l'insieme di tutti i colori, è stata da sempre apprezzata dai couturier nella storia.

I primi ad accostare il bianco e nero furono Paul Poiret, all'inizio del secolo scorso, ma anche Elsa Schiaparelli, che li rese protagonisti di uno dei suoi più apprezzati abiti da sera. Coco Chanel ne fece la sua firma, il logo della sua maison, nonché la caratteristica dell'iconico flacone di Chanel n°5, la cui etichetta minimale aveva un fondo bianco con il lettering nero.

Nel 1966, poi, fu Truman Capote a organizzare un party a tema passato alla storia, il Black and white ball, in cui gli invitati, tra i quali spiccavano Marella Agnelli, Lee Radziwill, sorella di Jackie Kennedy e Frank Sinatra con la moglie Mia Farrow, avevano l'obbligo di vestire un total look bianco e nero.

Per la prossima stagione invernale sono molti altri gli stilisti e le maison, da Valentino a Giambattista Valli, Ermanno Scervino, Trussardi e Givenchy, ad aver riportato in auge il legame-contrastro tra i due colori che rappresentano l'alfa e l'omega della scala cromatica.

Every season has its black and white. Especially in the history of fashion. 

The dichotomy of these two colors/non-colors, which seem not to exist but are the sum of all colors, has always been appreciated by couturiers throughout history.

The first to juxtapose black and white were Paul Poiret, at the beginning of the last century, but also Elsa Schiaparelli, who made them the protagonists of one of her most popular evening gowns. 

Coco Chanel made them her signature, the logo of her maison, as well as the feature of the iconic Chanel No. 5 bottle, whose minimal label had a white background with black lettering.

Then, in 1966, it was Truman Capote who organized a themed party that has gone down in history, the Black and white ball, at which guests, including Marella Agnelli, Lee Radziwill, sister of Jackie Kennedy, and Frank Sinatra with wife Mia Farrow, were required to wear a total black and white look.

For the coming winter season, there are many more designers and maisons, from Valentino to Giambattista Valli, Ermanno Scervino, Trussardi, and Givenchy, who have brought back the bond-contrast between the two colors that represent the alpha and omega of the color scale.
