Blue jeans, canotta, blazer/camicia.  

Alla fine, questo è stato uno dei look più discreti delle sfilate primavera/estate 2023 che ha ammaliato il front row e successivamente ha infiammato Instagram.  

Certo, si tratta di un look indossato per un'apparizione in passerella, ma è piuttosto sorprendente che il "comfort casual" possa essere ancora considerato uno dei riferimenti chiave per le tendenze della moda primavera/estate 2023, anche se siamo alle prese con Barbiecore-incontra-la-pelle-a bizzeffe. 

Ma in effetti se l'industria tiene d'occhio la recessione, potremmo benissimo assistere a un ritorno al "quiet luxury" nel 2023. 

Basti ripensare ai look normcore che hanno definito il decennio successivo alla crisi finanziaria del 2008, quando i marchi hanno ridotto i loghi, messo via l'abbigliamento da festa e abbracciato il buon vecchio blu navy. 

In alterantive comunque c’è anche la donna in pantaloni cargo e crop top, dal momento che designer su designer stanno dando corda alla tendenza utility.  

E tasche, tante tasche.  

Da Marine Serre a Miu Miu, da Chanel a Louis Vuitton, praticamente tutto, dalle giacche di pelle alle minigonne, ai cappotti di cotone color kaki, persino ai due pezzi di tweed, è stato fornito di tasche con cerniera o abbottonate. 

E se invece vi sentite combattive, c'è una corazza pronta per voi, in look dove pannelli stampati rivestiti in metallo e pelle hanno rubato le luci della ribalta.  

Ma se, per finire, volete solo festeggiare, date un’occhiata al tripudio di tessuti metallizzati luccicanti ed alle esplosioni di piume che ravvivano l'abbigliamento da sera della stagione.

Blue jeans, tank, blazer/shirt. In the end, it was one of the subtler looks spring/summer 2023 shows that got the front row snapping and subsequently set Instagram alight. Sure, it was worn for a runway appearance. 

But it’s still surprising that “casual comfort”can be considered one of the key references for the spring/summer 2023 fashion trends, even as we grapple with Barbiecore-meets-skin-galore.

But perhaps it isn’t. 

If the industry has one eye on recession, with a slowdown on the cards, we could well be in for a return to quiet luxury in 2023. 

Think back to the normcore looks that defined the decade after the 2008 financial crisis, when brands dialled down the logos, packed up the partywear and embraced good old navy blue.

Or perhaps you’ll be the woman in cargo pants and a crop top, since designer upon designer is giving the utility proposition legs. 

And pockets – lots of pockets. From Marine Serre to Miu Miu, Chanel to Louis Vuitton, everything from leather jackets to miniskirts to khaki cotton coats and even tweed two-pieces came with zipped or buttoned pouches.

If you’d rather go down fighting, there’s a breastplate for that, where metal and leather-coated moulded panels stole the limelight.

 If you’d prefer to just party, see the riot of texture, glistening metallics and explosions of feathers that enlivened eveningwear.
