Mentre mi perdevo nell’esplorazione degli stili e delle tendenze degli anni '90, mi sono resa conto che i vestiti in realtà non passano mai completamente di moda, tornano semplicemente trendy dopo 20 anni. 

Per tutti i millennial degli anni '90, quindi, è finalmente arrivato il momento di brillare!

Dopo aver rabbrividito per discutibili scelte d'infanzia, si potranno finalmente sfoggiare con orgoglio coordinati in denim o mini abiti scintillanti, e non essere considerati sorpassati. 

Se spiegassimo ai Gen-Z da dove viene l'estetica del cappello a secchiello, pensate che capirebbero che una volta erano addirittura più fighi di ora? 

Ma vediamo allora gli elementi dell'estetica della moda degli anni '90 più rilevanti nel 2022.

• Mini abiti e scamiciati scintillanti
• Nessuno ha più il coraggio di riderci sopra, considerando che abbiamo felicemente accolto perfino le salopette come parte del codice di abbigliamento socialmente accettato. Un mini abito scintillante potrebbe essere stato un look audace per gli anni '90, ma stiamo guardando le nostre celebrità preferite dare sempre più la loro approvazione a questo capo.
• Set sportivi
• Gli anni '90 erano famosi per i set coordinati di athleisure. Hanno consolidato l'idea che questi capi di abbigliamento sportivo “da salotto” fossero i nuovi fantastici pezzi che tutti dovevano avere nel guardaroba. Oggi, il set coordinato non affronta quasi nessuna concorrenza, con celebrità che li esibiscono in praticamente ogni tipo di occasione.

• I look alla moda sugli schermi degli anni '90 stanno facendo un notevole ritorno, lo abbiamo detto. As I went down the rabbit hole of 90s styles and trends, I realised that clothes don’t actually go out of fashion–they just become trendy in 20 years’ time. 

For all the 90s millennials, it’s finally your time to shine. 

After having cringed at your childhood choices, we can proudly sashay out in denim coords or sparkly mini dresses, and not be considered ancient for it. 

If we explained to Gen-Zers where that bucket hat aesthetic came from, do you think they’d understand that you’re just cooler? 

So, here’s looking at the 90s fashion aesthetic that’s relevant in 2022. 

• Sparkly mini dresses and pinafores 
• Nobody has the guts to laugh at it anymore, considering we’ve happily embraced dungarees as part of the accepted dress code. A sparkly mini dress might’ve been a bold look for the 90s but we’re watching our celebs giving their stamps of approval to the silhouette even today. 
• Athleisure sets 
• The 90s were big on coordinated athleisure sets. They consolidated the notion that these active-cum-lounge wear pieces were the cool new fits everyone needed to have in their wardrobes. Today, the coord set hardly faces any competition, with celebrities stepping out in them for nearly every kind of occasion. 
• Bucket hats and backless blouses 
• The 90s on-screen fashion looks are making a remarkable comeback. From giving us the bucket hat to the backless blouse, we’re taking notes on fashion forwardness from the 90s film stars.
