Come Portare il Corsetto Nel 2022

Ci sono voluti decenni perché le donne, sempre più attive, liberassero i loro corpi da inutili costrizioni e si liberassero una volta per tutte di questo capo.

O almeno, questo è quello che pensavamo.

Sono infatti bastate una serie TV - e uno stile, il "Regencycore" - per far rivivere al corsetto, precedentemente evitato come la peste, un nuovo momento di gloria.

L'effetto è stato immediato, con il romanzo storico che ha potenziato, quasi irrevocabilmente, le ricerche di questo oggetto.

Un mese dopo l'uscita della serie Bridgerton, la piattaforma globale di ricerca di moda Lyst ha osservato un aumento del 123% delle ricerche per la categoria corsetti.

E questa è stata una vera sorpresa in un momento in cui l'emancipazione e l'affermazione di sé sembrano sfidare convenzioni e diktat nei settori della moda e della bellezza.

Ma il fenomeno è presto svanito, almeno in apparenza, relegando il corsetto al rango di accessorio obsoleto, nel migliore dei casi destinato ad impreziosire un audace travestimento da festa in maschera. Nella vita di tutti i giorni, si trattava più di snellire la vita, giocare con allacciature e capi di lingerie, sotto o sopra i vestiti, che di compromettere la capacità di respirare delle donne.

Questo prima che i direttori artistici delle più grandi case di moda decidessero, a loro volta, di spingere il corsetto sulle passerelle.

E così riparte l'eterno ciclo della moda... Alla fine, il 2022 è stato caratterizzato dal grande allentamento del lockdown e di altre restrizioni Covid-19 – almeno per ora – offrendo (finalmente) alle persone la possibilità di dare il massimo con stravaganze sartoriali.

È stato l'addio a pantaloni della tuta, leggings, felpe con cappuccio e pantofole, poiché la moda ha abbracciato modelli, colori vivaci e capi che trasudano divertimento.

E — sorpresa, sorpresa — il corsetto sembra essere diventato quell'accessorio che soddisfa tutte le aspettative in termini di creatività e fantasia.

È stato visto in tutte le passerelle delle sfilate Primavera/Estate 2022, dove gli stilisti hanno reso il corsetto un pezzo iconico della stagione ed è stato poi riproposto in salsa più dark e sensuale sulle passerelle Autunno/inverno 2022/3.

Weinsanto, Acne Studios e Mugler hanno presentato tutti una versione rivisitata del corsetto, dando l'opportunità alle personalità più importanti del mondo di riportarlo sotto i riflettori.

Ma contrariamente a come appariva il corsetto decenni fa, è ora visto come un giocattolo, persino un modo per affermare ed emanciparsi, enfatizzando non una vita minuscola, ma tutte le forme e le dimensioni del corpo.

È un modo per promuovere l' autostima ed evitare i molti diktat che sembrano lentamente ma inesorabilmente crollare.

E questo senza contare sull'aiuto di un'altra tendenza emergente chiamata "fairycore", un sorprendente mashup di estetica fatata e grunge.

Il corsetto è parte integrante di questo stile che sta spopolando su TikTok, dove viene indossato con magliette, camicie o camicette, giocando con le proporzioni. È un'estetica che potrebbe benissimo rendere il corsetto il pezzo must-have di quest'anno.

The effect was immediate, with the historical romance boosting, almost irrevocably, searches for this item.

One month after the release of the Bridgerton drama, the global fashion search platform Lyst observed a 123% increase in searches for the category.

And that’s quite a feat at a time when emancipation and self-affirmation seem to be challenging conventions and diktats in the fashion and beauty sectors.

But the phenomenon quickly faded away, at least in appearance, relegating the corset to the rank of an outdated accessory, at best intended to embellish a daring costume party disguise. In real, day-to-day life, it was more about slimming down your waist, playing with lacing and lingerie pieces — whether under or on top of clothes — than about impairing women’s ability to breathe.

But that was before the artistic directors of the biggest fashion houses decided, in turn, to propel the corset onto the catwalks. And so the eternal cycle of fashion starts again…

In the end, 2021 was marked by the major easing of lockdown and other Covid-19 restrictions — for now, at least — (finally) offering people the chance to go all out with sartorial extravagances.

It was goodbye to sweatpants, leggings, hoodies and slippers, as fashion embraced patterns, vibrant colors and pieces that ooze fun.

And — surprise, surprise — the corset seems to have become that accessory that fulfills all expectations in terms of creativity and imagination.

It was seen all over the catwalks of the Spring/Summer 2022 fashion shows, where designers made the corset an iconic piece of the season, and,again, on many Fall/Winter 2022/3 collections.

Weinsanto, Acne Studios and Mugler all presented a revisited version of the corset, giving the world’s most prominent personalities the opportunity to bring it back into the spotlight.

But contrary to what the corset used to look like decades ago, this reboot is now being seen as a plaything, even a way to assert and emancipate yourself, emphasizing not a tiny waist, but all body shapes and sizes.

It’s a way to put forward your self-confidence, and to shun the many diktats that seem to be slowly but surely breaking down.

And that’s without counting on the help of an emerging trend called “fairycore,” a surprising mashup of fairy and grunge aesthetics.

The corset is an integral part of this style that’s riding high on TikTok, and is worn here with T-shirts, shirts or blouses, playing with proportions.

It’s an aesthetic that could well make the corset the must-have piece of this year.
