The Modern Side Of The Lace

 Il Lato Moderno Del Pizzo

-ITA-

most of the ensembles of the fall/Winter 2021-22 fashion shows stop mid-thigh and reveal bare legs - a rather surprising choice given the season.
The torsos were covered with loose-fitting white shirts, lace plastrons and jabots, and contrasting polka-dot tops, while pleated and flared high-waisted skirts, black mini-shorts, flat leather boots, coats and short woollen capes completed silhouettes that were strongly reminiscent of schoolgirl uniforms, while their materials and refinement gave them a more "grown-up" stature.

The collections particularities lie in the details and techniques.

On both men and women, we find turtleneck tops where small cuts draw regular openings, black sweaters where the cuts sketch large squares reminiscent of certain jacquard patterns, "net" coats and jackets decorated with discreet floral appliqués or knotted ribbons.
A sparkling cape, dresses in white lace, black organza or swathed in silver sequins give to this wardrobe all the theatricality and femininity in collections where dark romanticism and punk chic, with a hint of goth, combine to deploy a timeless elegance.

  2. Hey Silvia, I hope you're having a good week so far!

I like this short but concrete recap about your impressions for the upcoming trends. It is cool to see things that many people used to wear in the past but now with a different twist and unexpected ways of wearing it. I think lace has been there for many years and sometimes we tend to associate it with the past but there are many designers that are adding it to their collections with a modern approach. I also liked to see a lot of colors that are not the usual you see when it comes to show this kind of textiles ;)

As usual I am eager to see how you style and tune up the trend!
