Cos'è il Cottagecore?

Cottagecore – lo stile noto anche come farmcore o countrycore - è soprattutto un'estetica, come quello che era il grunge negli anni '90 o il normcore all'inizio dell'ultimo decennio.

A differenza però delle moderne “VSCO girls” con i loro scrunchie e le e-girl nate dalla sottocultura Tik Tok, il cottagecore va controcorrente.

Non prevede alcun elemento che si definirebbe contemporaneo o addirittura cool. Piuttosto è incentrato su un immaginaria vita in un cottage in campagna: giardinaggio, vegetazione, stampe floreali, abiti svolazzanti e animali.

Insomma l’idea sarebbe quella di sentirsi come se si vivesse in una ideale fattoria.

E infatti questo stile è contornato da oggetti quali guanti da giardinaggio, decorazioni per la casa stampate a motivi di fiori e frutta, abiti floreali con maniche a sbuffo e gonne a strati, ecc...

È un'estetica basata su una vita tranquilla e semplice, cibo buono e sano, animali da accudire, un giardino da curare, vestiti che leggeri e freschi e un profondo apprezzamento per la natura e il mondo naturale.

Cottagecore — also known as farmcore or countrycore — is an aesthetic above all, like what grunge was in the ’90s and normcore became at the beginning of the last decade.

Unlike the modern VSCO girls with their scrunchies and e-girls born out of scene subculture, cottagecore is not about being contemporary — or even cool, for that matter.

Cottagecore is centered around what you would imagine living in a cottage in the countryside would be like — gardening, greenery, floral prints, flowy dresses, and animals. You want to feel like you would fit in on a farm.

It’s best illustrated by items like radish gardening gloves, peach-printed home decor, floral dresses with puff sleeves and tiered skirts.

It’s an aesthetic based upon a quiet, simple life filled with good, wholesome food, animals to care for, a garden to tend to, light and fresh clothes and a deep-rooted appreciation for nature and the natural world.
