Animal Print: The Trend That Has Dominated The Fashion Month

Vi piacerebbe esplorare il vostro lato più selvaggio della moda quest'autunno / inverno? No problem! 

Molti designer hanno proposto la stampa animalier nelle loro collezioni, con immediato (favorevole) riscontro nello street style.

Tom Ford, ad es., ha presentato tute, cappotti, leggings e maglie che sembrano un omaggio agli abitanti della savana. Così anche Diane Von Furstenberg, la cui linea, rinnovata dalla stampa leopardo, si è dimostrata un’efficace alternativa al classico e sicuro LBD per la sera.

Un cappotto maculato reso in un leggero damascato, basato su un vecchio tessuto per tappezzeria veneziano,invece, è stato uno degli articoli più chiacchierati della collezione autunnale di Victoria Beckham. 

Non siete ancora così convinte di volervi unire al trend? Bè allora date un'occhiata al "canto del cigno" di Carolina Herrera: nella sua ultima collezione a capo del omonimo marchio, prima di consegnare le redini a Wes Gordon, i pattern dei grandi felini hanno raggiunto perfino gli abiti da sera.
L’animalier tuttavia non è certo una novità, è sempre stata una stampa audace, le cui iterazioni nella moda sono in circolazione da molto tempo ed il cui significato poteva riassumersi in 3 parole: glamour, sexy e "donna"!
Ma dopo decenni in cui questa fantasia è stata più o meno relegata ai margini del sistema fashion, durante la ultime settimane della moda c’è stata una vera invasione di tutte le possibili variazioni della classica stampa animale; stivali di pelle di serpente, gonne stampa leopardo, strisce tigrate su vestitini a ruota o utilizzate al posto dei fiori su camice di ispirazione hawaiana, hanno preso il posto di graziose fantasie e colori pastello.
Da New York a Parigi, lo street style ha quindi preso le stampe riproposte dagli stilisti e le ha rese perfino più fresche, attuali e sorprendentemente divertenti. 

Chi avrebbe mai pensato che nel 2018 saremmo andate in cerca di stivali da cowboy in pelle di serpente o di top stampa leopardo? Insomma l’animal print ormai è per tutte; non più solo must per le più estrose, ma una tendenza adatta anche alle più timide ma con un'animo grintoso.

Many designers have embraced the animal print in  their collections, with an immediate (positive) feedback of the street style.

Tom Ford, for ex., presented suits, coats, leggings and sweaters that seem to pay homage to the jungle inhabitants. 

So too Diane Von Furstenberg, whose revamped line of mostly leopard print has convinced us to put down the safe LBD come evening.

A spotted coat rendered in a lightweight chenille jacquard, based on an old Venetian upholstery fabric, was one of the most talked-about items in Victoria Beckham autumn show. 
Not so keen to run with the pack? Look to Carolina Herrera’s swan song, her final collection at her eponymous brand before handing over the reins to Wes Gordon, where whimsical big cats stalked across evening dresses.
The animalier, really, has always been a bold print, whose iterations in fashion have been around for a long time and whose meaning can be summarized in 3 words: glamorous, sexy, and grown up!
Finally, after decades in which this print has been more or less relegated to the edge of the fashion system, during the last fashion weeks there has been an overrun of the variations of the classic animal print; snakeskin boots, leopard printed skirts and tiger stripes on shift dresses or emblazoned in the place of florals on a Hawaiian-inspired box shirts, have taken the place of pretty patterns and pastel colors.
Then, from New York to Paris, the street style has then took all the prints proposed by designers and has made them fresh, whimsical and surprisingly fun. 

Who would have thought that in 2018 we would go looking for cowboy boots in snakeskin or leopard printed tops? In short, animal print is really for everybody: no longer just a drawcard for the most bold and whimsical fashionistas, but has also become a trend for even the most shy of us.
