TRAVEL DIARY: the Amalfi Coast - Sorrento

Sorrento è la prima meta che abbiamo visitato lungo la costiera amalfitana, 

dato che siamo arrivati lì con la macchina e poi ci siamo imbarcati per Capri (e viceversa quando siamo andati a visitare la costa).

Tra i paesi della costiera che abbiamo visto è quello più grande, però sostanzialmente la parte turistica ed il centro storico si sviluppano a pochi passi dal porto quindi non è difficile raggiungerli a piedi.

I vicoletti antichi sono freschi e davvero caratterisitici, poi ci sono diversi negozietti molto particolari che vale la pena vedere, senza contare le bellissime Chiese!

Ma la cosa che mi è piaciuta di più è stata senza dubbio il panorama: da diversi punti si può accedere facilmente alla vista sul golfo, che è semplicemente mozzafiato! Con Capri, il Vesuvio e la costa rocciosa e verde che dà sul mare azzurro!

Se vi capita, scegliete un ristorantino vista mare sulla scogliera, vale assolutamente la pena fare una sosta così! (non vi aspettate il tramonto però, il sole tramonta dalla parte opposta…)

Sorrento is the first destination we visited on the Amalfi coast: 

we arrived there by car and then we boarded for Capri (and vice versa when we went back to visit the coast).
Among the coastal villages that we have seen, this is the largest, but substantially the tourist part and the historic center are located a few steps from the port so it is not difficult to reach them on foot.
The ancient alleys are fresh and very nice and there are several small shops that are worth seeing, not to mention the beautiful churches!
But the thing that I liked the most was undoubtedly the view: from different points you can easily access the view of the gulf, of the mount Vesuvio and Capri, which is simply breathless!
So my advise is: choose a restaurant overlooking the sea on the cliff, it is absolutely worth stopping! (do not expect the sunset, however, the sun sets on the opposite side of the sea...)
