La moda ha perso un colosso con la scomparsa di Vivienne Westwood a dicembre scorso. 

Famosa per la sua fedeltà ad una femminilità ribelle, oltre che per le sue incessanti campagne sociali, la sua eredità è sopravvissuta nei vibranti tartan, negli audaci bustini e nella leggiadra corsetteria che hanno animato molte collezioni autunnali di quest'anno. 

Marc Jacobs è stato il primo a renderle omaggio con la sua sfilata. 

Sarà una coincidenza che ha portato tanti altri stilisti a promuovere una sensibilità punk e anticonformista? 

Comunque sembra che l'attivismo sia nell'aria.

L'Indie Sleaze si è insinuato di nuovo tra noi, un Tik Tok " Rock-star girlfriend aesthetic " alla volta.

E con pagine sempre più popolari su Instagram come @brit_cult e @indiesleaze che spuntano sui nostri feed con una dose di nostalgia cool e a volte deliziosamente cringe, non c'è da stupirsi che la tendenza sia riuscita a risalire tra le alte sfere del mondo della moda.

Fashion lost a colossus when Vivienne Westwood passed away in December of last year. 

Famed for her fealty to femininity-with-a-kick, as well as for her relentless campaigning, her legacy lived on in the vibrant tartans, bold bustles and graceful corsetry that enlivened many a fall collection. Marc Jacobs was the first to pay tribute with his show. 

Could it be coincidence that led so many other designers to promote a punkish, non-conformist sensibility? It seems activism is in the air.

Indie Sleaze has been creeping back up on us, one “Rock-star girlfriend aesthetic” Tik Tok at a time.

With popular Instagram blog pages like @brit_cult and @indiesleaze popping up on our feeds with a hit of smoulderingly cool and sometimes deliciously cringe nostalgia, it’s no wonder that the trend has managed to claw its way back up into the upper echelons of the fashion world.
