THE Y2K STYLE IS BACK!

 LO STILE ANNI '00 E' TORNATO!

Immaginate: è il 2003. Il magistrale In the Zone di Britney Spears sta scalando le classifiche, i social media non hanno ancora il controllo delle nostre vite mentre Paris Hilton e Nicole Richie stanno prendendo il sopravvento dalle TV di tutto il mondo con The Simple Life, indossando cappellini Von Dutch . Erano ceramente tempi più semplici e più ingenui. 

Certo, bisogna ammettere che la moda del 2000 era parecchio brutta in generale, e, anche se a volte può essere stata sgargiante - ricordate quando indossavamo quelle cinture enormi con... letteralmente tutto? -, era senza dubbio più "sincera" e meno costruita rispetto a quella delle celebrità sui media che si vedono oggi. 

Ma,ancora più importante, è stata divertente, molto divertente, che è proprio quello che dovrebbe significare vestirsi, soprattutto in questo momento. 

Ma non andiamo troppo sul sentimentale riguardo alla moda del passato, perché nel 2022, che vi piaccia o no, lo stile dei primi anni 2000 è tornato. 

Il fervore dei primi anni 00 è stato acceso per la prima volta dalla Gen Z l'anno scorso, quando hanno iniziato a sfoggiare jeans bootcut e foulard di seta come top su TikTok. 

Poco dopo, abbiamo visto quell'estetica spuntare anche sulle passerelle, dove etichette come Blumarine hanno debuttato con miniabiti arricciati, cinture luccicanti e denim a vita bassa. 

E ora la tendenza sta prendendo piede sempre di più anche sulle strade. 

Già durante l'estate, star come Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid e altre avevano rispolverato i loro migliori abiti del 2000, dando però  loro un aspetto nuovo e moderno.

Picture this: The year is 2003. Britney Spears’s masterful In the Zone is climbing the charts, social media has not yet taken over our lives, and Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie are taking over our TV screens on The Simple Life wearing Von Dutch trucker hats. 

These were simpler, sillier times.

Sure, Y2K fashion gets a bad rap in general, and it may have been gaudy at times—remember when we wore huge belts with literally everything?—but it was earnest and less produced than the average celebrity ’fit you see today. 

More importantly, it was fun, which is what getting dressed should be all about right now. 

But don’t get too sentimental about fashion of the past—because in 2022, like it or not, early-2000s style is come back with a vengeance. 

The early aughts fervor was first ignited by Gen Z last year, when they began rocking bootcut jeans and silk scarves as tops on TikTok. 

Soon after, we saw the aesthetic pop up on the runways too, where labels like Blumarine have debuted ruffled minidresses, blingy belts, and low-slung denim. 

And now, the trend is gaining momentum on the streets as well. 

Over the summer, stars like Rihanna, Dua Lipa, Bella Hadid, and more have been dusting off their best Y2K wears and giving them a new, modern feel.
