OOTD: The 2022 Way to Wear The Preppy Style

 Come Indossare Lo Stile Preppy Nel 2022

Come parte dell'uniforme scolastica, sono cresciuta indossando capi rigorosi in stile più o meno preppy ed ho sempre voluto ribellarmi profondamente a questo tipo di abbigliamento. 

Le polo erano troppo monotone e i pantaloni blu scuro non si adattavano di certo all’idea di moda di un’adolescente. 

Le gonne (rigorosamente a pieghe) erano troppo banali e lunghe e ho sempre odiato il fatto che non potessi portare le sneakers tutti i giorni. 

Quindi ero strasicura che, appena avessi potuto, avrei immediatamente detto addio a questo tipo di abbigliamento, ma poi mi sono resa conto che ormai quell’estetica si è così radicata nel mio cervello da rispuntare fuori quando meno me l’aspetto. 

Le camicie oversize, le polo e i pantaloni a sigaretta infatti, gira che ti rigira, sono tutt’ora parte del mio guardaroba, anche se adesso che ho più di controllo su vestibilità e stile e mi sento più io ad indossarli. 

E penso che proprio la mia propensione per una versione moderna della moda preppy sia ciò che mi abbia reso felice di vedere questa tendenza avere una rappresentanza importante sulle passerelle A/I 22.

Questa volta, infatti, i designer hanno seguito le idee dei trasgressori delle regole dello stile nelle scuole, di quelle che avrebbero osato rompere gli schemi e indossare le gonne più corte dello standard, ad es. 

Senza dubbio, sta avvenendo un importante rebrand del preppy, a volte denominato anche "academic underachievers" o "twisted academia". 

Maglioni a trecce over portati senza pantaloni, gonne tagliate a lunghezze mini-micro, dettagli gotici sul'uniforme scolastica: sono tutti qui per essere provati.

As part of a school uniform, I grew up wearing preppy clothes and have to admit that I always wanted to rebel against them. The polo shirts felt too monotonous and the navy pants didn’t fit into my idea of fashion at the time. 

The pleated skirts seemed too long and boring and I've always wanted to wear my sparkling sneakers everyday.

With all of that in mind, Iwas sure that I'd say goodbye to preppy fashion after I left high school, but, after some year, I've realized that it’s very much ingrained in my style somewhere. 

Crisp, oversize button-down shirts, polo tops, and straight trousers are still some of my wardrobe staples, but now that I have more control about the fit and the styling,so they feel more me.

I think my proclivity for a modern take on preppy fashion is what makes me excited to see the trend make a major statement on the F/W 22 runways. 

This time around, though, designers were embracing the rule-breakers who would dare to break the mold and wear their skirts shorter than dress code standard—and I’m very here for it.

No doubt it, there's a major preppy rebrand happening, dubbed "academic underachievers" and "twisted academia."
