TENDENZE MODA ESTATE 2021: IL COLOR BLOCKING
-ITA-
I

Another one
of the 80s and 90s trends to make a huge comeback, color block outfits are the
flavour of the season. The bold colors and contrasting tones make it a great
way to add color to your neutrals and plain-old black outfits.
From beachwear to workwear, the color blocking trend is everywhere. So lets find out how to wear color block outfits and try this trend today!
When
shopping for new season buys, designers are looking to ice cream shops for
inspo. Soft sorbet hues bring a little sweetness to everything from billowing
maxi dresses (Alberta Ferreti, Fendi) to dungarees (Isabel Marant) and even
trouser suits (BOSS).
Looking at
2021 collections of acid yellow, tangerine, tomato, cyan, and maroon will cause
déja vu; each color-blocked look has an almost exact parallel to one from the
2011 collections.
Back then,
color blocking was on the precipice of becoming a defining aesthetic of the
twenty-teens, boosted by Raf Simons at Jil Sander, Prada, Prabal Gurung,
Thakoon, and so many other designers who spliced up their clothes in
contrasting vibrant hues.
The permission to feel vibey and joyous about
garments came after the doldrums of the 2008 recession, when fashion had turned
sparse, strict, and thin.
Molto, molto eleganti

Hello dear Silvia, I hope you're having a good summer despite the current situation!
RispondiEliminaCurrently you're nailing it with the trends you're sharing on S-Fashion-Avenue, last week stripes were my thing and now you are into color block and the importance of solid colors in the contemporary dressing.... Thanks for that! I feel that these are my trends or styles haha :)
You're right! Color blocking was a big thing back in the 2008, maybe that's why we link this kind of aesthetics to the beginning of bloggers back in the day, and now we are into this but in a new contemporary way: through comfortable clothes and slouchy patterns, maybe this after the pandemic crash. It is important to notice how trends are concived after big social moments right? Fashion is more than clothes after all!
Excited to see more on how you style this new trend!
