OOTD: Can Neutral Colors Really Go with Anything?

Anche se in linea generale i colori neutri possono andare praticamente con qualsiasi cosa, alcuni toni risultano migliori se abbinati a certi stili o con i colori di certe persone, o ancora integrati con determinati accessori. 

Senza dimenticare che alcuni colori si mescolano tra loro meglio di altri. 

Prendiamo che stiate indossando un bel vestito multicolor vivace e, per renderlo più professionale per l'ufficio ad es., decidete abbinarlo a un blazer neutro. Un blazer nero sarà sicuramente una scelta migliore rispetto ad un blazer beige perché il nero non ha assolutamente colore mentre il beige può risultare un pugno in un occhio se va ad aggiungere un altro colore ancora ad un abito già molto colorato di suo.

Ma indossare i colori neutri, cosa ci dice di una persona?

Generalmente si ritiene che le persone che indossano i colori neutri stiano provando a non attirare l'attenzione su se stesse, dato che è più facile confondersi nella folla quando si indossano queste sfumature. Insomma i tipi di persona che vogliono andare sul sicuro o che si trovano in un ambiente in cui devono vestirsi in modo discreto e non troppo appariscente. 

Ma sarà davero così?
Magari la maggior parte di coloro che fanno questa scelta quotidianamente o quasi, sono effettivamente persone timide o che non amano attirare l'attenzione, ma protrebbe anche essere che vogliano lasciar parlare altri aspetti della loro vita prima del proprio aspetto. 

Pensate ad es. all'outfit di Steve Jobs: indossava sempre lo stesso dolcevita nero, stessi jeans e scarpe da ginnastica nonostante avesse fatto milioni con Apple e fosse notoriamente una persona brillante. La sua reputazione precedeva il suo abbigliamento. Quindi meglio non sottovalutare comunque qualcuno che preferisce indossare abiti neutri.
In ogni caso oggi questo concetto si è andato, almeno parzialmente, ribaltando: i colori neutri di questa stagione sono sì morbidi e caldi ma sono anche molto luminosi; e si adattano perfettamente a molteplici stili e gusti, da quelli più semplici a quelli più trasgressivi, divenendo essenziali per il guardaroba di ogni donna moderna.

Senza contare che l’abbinamento a pochi tocchi di colore li rende immediatamente la base perfetta per look statement e super cool, tutt’altro che banali!

While neutral colors can go with almost anything, still some colors and styles look better on some people or when complemented with other accessories. You also have to consider that some colors mix better than others. Let's say, for ex., that you are wearing a nice bright multicolored dress and, to make it more professional in the office, decide to pair it with a neutral blazer. A black blazer will definitely look better than a beige blazer because black has totally no color, while beige can be an eyesore because it adds another color to the outfit.

But, what does wearing neutral colors say about you?

It is generally believed that people who wear neutral colors are trying not to draw attention to themselves, since it is easier to blend in with the crowd than stand out when wearing neutral colors. In short, are the type of people who either want to play it safe, or are in an environment where they have to dress conservatively and not draw too much attention to yourself. But is it really so true?
Maybe sometimes they’re shy or don’t like attention, but it’s even possible they let the other aspects of their life speak for themselves. 

Take a look at Steve Jobs’s outfit, for example: he always wore the same black turtleneck, jeans and sneakers despite having made millions with Apple and was notoriously a brilliant person. His reputation preceded his clothing, so better not to underestimate someone who prefers to wear neutral clothes.
In any case, this concept has been reversed, at least partially, today: the neutral colors of this season are soft and warm but they are even bright; they also go with almost anything, making them essentials for any modern woman's wardrobe. 

Not to mention that the combination with a few touches of color immediately makes them the perfect base for statement and super cool ensamble, way far from boring!
