SUMMER 2019 TREND ALERT: 90’s ROMANCE

Venti anni fa, gli anni '90 stavano volgendo al termine e l'estetica del decennio si era pienamente formata. Insomma si potrebbe dire che era il picco dell'estetica "anni 90". 

E visto che quel decennio è un tema così radicato nel 2019, perché non ri-vedere esattamente cosa indossavano le ragazze del nell’estate del 199X, sia nello spirito di una nostalgica rievocazione che nella speranza di trovare qualche ispirazione per lo shopping?

• Bianco e nero
• Dalle stampe a scacchi stile Vans ai pantaloni a righe così in voga negli anni '90, questa combinazione di colori ha servito diversi momenti sartoriali indimenticabili all’epoca, che sono stati riproposti nel 2019 dai designer più importanti così come dai rivenditori di fast fashion come Zara e Asos.

• Stile Versace
• Il decadente mondo di Versace è un vero parco giochi per gli impavidi fashionistas del 2019. Nelle ultime stagioni, la maison italiana ha rivisitato pezzi d'archivio dalle sue iconiche collezioni degli anni '90, ispirando donne e uomini a tirar fuori la loro Donatella o Gianni interiore. È una formula semplice da seguire: colori vividi, stampe opulente, oro e sex appeal. Aspettatevi di trovare questa tendenza nell'abbigliamento femminile, nelle camicie da uomo e anche nei costumi da bagno, dove l’allure “South Beach” è sempre di moda.
• Pantaloncini da bici
• I pantaloncini da bici hanno fatto molta strada. Quello che era considerato un capo sfacciato negli anni '90 si è trovato in qualche modo al vertice dell'essere accettabile nella moda del 2019. I social media sono in gran parte i responsabili da ringraziare, o biasimare, per il suo ritorno. Celebrità come Gigi e Bella Hadid hanno adottato la tendenza nelle sue fasi iniziali, ed i consumatori si sono abituati sempre più ad accettare e apprezzare l'abbigliamento sportivo. Anche se con gli stili più colorati e brillanti che mai, i biker shorts potrebbero essere l’unica tendenza degli anni '90 che è tornata forse meno raffinata di quanto lo fosse in origine.
• Denim decorato
• A seconda della fine del decennio che si desidera esaminare, il denim decorato degli anni '90 si è distinto da un a parte per l’utilizzo di ricami e di patch, e dall’altra per lo sfarzo di strass e cristalli incollati su cuciture, tasche, spalle e colletti. Nel 2019, i brand di jeanseria hanno preso spunto un po 'da entrambi i mondi, offrendo jeans con dettagli scintillanti oppure decorazioni che sembrano fatte a mano e personalizzate. L'obiettivo, tuttavia, rimane lo stesso: distinguersi dalla massa di denim in circolazione.
• Abiti Bodycon
• Quando Herve Leger disegnò l'abito bandage nel 1989, creò il modello di abiti aderenti che ancora oggi i designer seguono. Fortunatamente per Leger, la nascita di quel vestito ha coinciso con l'ascesa delle top model, che sarebbero diventate muse naturali per una silhouette che sottolinea così tanto la figura. Twenty years ago, starting to come to a close and the aesthetic of the decade was fully formed. You might even say that it was peak '90s. 

And since that decade is such an overarching theme in 2019, why not re-see exactly what the coolest girls of the 199X summer were wearing in July 199X, in both the spirit of nostalgia and in hopes that we'd walk away with some fresh outfit or shopping inspiration.

• Black and white
• From Vans-style checkered prints to the striped pants so popular in the 90s, this color combination served several unforgettable tailoring moments at the time, which were recreated in 2019 by top designers as well as fast fashion retailers such as Zara and Asos.
• Versace style
• The decadent world of Versace is a playground for the fearless fashionistas of 2019. In recent seasons, the Italian fashion house has revisited some archive pieces from its iconic 90s collections, inspiring women and men to embrace their inner Donatella or Gianni. It's a simple formula to follow: vivid colors, opulent prints, gold and sex appeal. Expect to find this trend in women's clothing, men's shirts and swimwear, where the "South Beach" allure is always in fashion.
• Bike shorts
• Bike shorts have come a long way. What was considered an outrageous style in the 90s, yet it has somehow found itself on the cusp of being acceptable fashion in 2019. Social media is likely to thank, or blame, for its comeback. Celebrities like Gigi and Bella Hadid have adopted the trend in its stages, consumers have become acclimated with swiping and liking the sporty garb. And with the most colorful and brilliant styles ever, biker shorts could be the only trend of the 90s that came back less refined than it originally was.
• Embellished denim
• Depending on which end of the decade you want to examine, embellished denim in the ’90s skewed either chintzy with homemade embroideries and fabric paint, or glitzy with rhinestones and crystals glued to seams, pockets, shoulders and collars. In 2019, denim brands borrow a little from both worlds, offering jeans with subtle splashes of sparkle and details that feel handmade and personal. The goal, however, remains the same: to stand out in a sea of blue.
• Bodycon
• When Herve Leger designed the bandage dress in 1989, he created the template of close-fitting clothes that designers still follow today. Fortunately for Leger, the birth of that dress coincided with the rise of the supermodels, who would become natural muses for a silhouette that embraces the figure. In 2019, the Kardashians as well as retailers such as Fashion Nova are reinventing tight-fitting clothes, updating the silhouette with liquid-like fabrics, sparkling metallic and intense colors.
