OOTD: How to Wear See-Through on Everything

Non sono mai stata una che stravede per i vestiti sexy e rivelatori. 

Forse è perché il mio stile è sempre stato più sul lato romantico, con quelle silhouette delicate che sono il mio taglio preferito. 

Non amo mostrare tutto troppo sfacciatamente, insomma. 

Questo finché non ho scoperto il potere degli abiti see-through. 

Forse perchè in fondo gli abiti in crochet o pizzo hanno quell’aspetto seducente pur consentendo una certa copertura, specialmente quando si utilizzano strati strategici. 

O forse sono così stufa di mesi e mesi di capi sportivi o da casa che sto andando dal lato opposto, chissà….

Non riesco a spiegare la mia sbandata; tutto quello che so è che sto apprezzando sempre di più le trasparenze– e apparentemente non sono sola. 

Come evidenziato sulle passerelle Primavera/Estate 2022 di Tom Ford, David Koma e Rejina Pyo, quest'anno la tendenza see-through sta dilagando. 

Maglie sfolgoranti, sottovesti in rete leggera e abiti fatti di paillettes ma trasparenti, erano presenti praticamente in tutte le collezioni, e li ho davvero apprezzati tutti. 

Detto questo, la maggior parte dei look see through che hanno calcato le passerelle lo scorso autunno erano indossati con uno stile minimal, in modo da esaltare quei piccoli capolavori luccicanti e sinuosi. Tutto questo va bene per gli show, e magari anche per i caldi mesi estivi: un bell’abito trasparente in fondo si presta bene ad esser statificato in vari modi. 

Che sia una canotta, un crop top corto aderente o un body da infilarci sotto, ci sono tanti ottimi sistemi per far brillare un vestito semitrasparente senza osare troppo. 

E se state uscendo di corsa e avete bisogno di un topper facile ed elegante, un blazer boxy oversize o una giacca corta sono senza dubbio la strada giusta da percorrere.

I’ve never been one for sexy, revealing clothing. Probably that’s because my style has always erred on the romantic side, with delicate silhouettes being my look of choice. 

I’ve always against about showing too much, until I discovered the power of sheer dresses. 

Maybe it’s that mesh frocks feel provocative while still allowing for some coverage when utilizing strategic layering. 

Or perhaps, I’m so sick of months upon months of plush, cozy loungewear that I’m going for the polar opposite effect. I can’t explain my sartorial loophole, but all I know is I’m living for a see-through look — and apparently I’m not alone.

As evidenced on the Spring/Summer 2022 runways of Tom Ford, David Koma, and Rejina Pyo the sheer trend is hitting hard this year. 

Bedazzled open knits, lightweight mesh shifts, and sheer mermaid-like sequin slips were all on full display, and I truly loved them all. That said, most of the sheer looks that sauntered down the catwalk last fall were worn solo with minimal styling, so as not to take away from the glistening, slinky masterpieces.

This is all fine and good for the warm summer months: a fun sheer frock lends itself nicely to layering in a variety of ways. If a tank style is your jam, a fitted cropped turtleneck or bodysuit underneath is a great way to allow the dress itself to shine, for ex. 

To end, if you’re running out the door and are in need of an easy and stylish topper, an oversized boxy blazer or cropped jacket could be the way to go.
