Mermaid style: for summer nights

Vi piace il look da sirena e volete provarlo per una serata speciale? Beh, per prima cosa dovreste avere capelli mossi o ricci, magari lughi fino alle spalle e schiariti dal sole.  
ma per completare il vostro look ecco alcuni suggerimenti: 

1.  Anche se non siete in costume da bagno, ma avete voglia di imitare il look da sirena, prediligete i toni blu e verdi. 
2. Se potete, indossate un make up molto naturale ma sempre sul blu e verde, magari con smalto azzurro sulle unghie. 
3. Visto che sarete comunque piuttosto appariscenti con questo genere di look, dovete portarlo con la massima naturalezza possibile, perciò non siate timide e ricordate di tenere un sguardo sicuro e rilassato!
4. Le Sirene di solito, ma non sempre, hanno i capelli lunghi e mossi. Non importa il colore, ma dovrebbero arrivare almeno alle spalle ed avere un'aspetto molto naturale. Se li avete corti comunque anche un taglio "pixie" sarebbe adatto. 
5. Indossate un make up luminoso e scintillante e un lucidalabbra chiaro. Ricordate che le sirene hanno un'aspetto molto naturale, quindi non esagerate! Indossare giusto un pò di mascara o eyeliner liquido per accentuare lo sguardo. Per ottenenere un'effetto naturale da "sono appena uscita dall'acqua", provate lip gloss chiaro, ombretto bianco perlato,ed uno smalto chiaro e luminoso. Infine nebulizzate uno spray illuminante sul volto, sulle braccia e sulle gambe per un aspetto luminoso.  
6. l'abbronzatura è essenziale, ma al bando quella esagerata, un bel colorito dorato sarebbe perfetto. Deve darvi un'aspetto sano e  naturale come se passaste un sacco di tempo fuori al sole. 
7. Indossate colori marini e abiti fluenti. O in tessuti brillanti. I vestiti dovrebbero ricordare l'acqua del mare. 
8. Tenete presente che questo look si fa notare, perciò richiede un carattere disinvolto, tranquillo e sicuro di sé. 
9. Per finire ricordate di avere un'aria un po 'misteriosa e sarete perfette! ;)

Well, first you should have wavy or curly hair, try to grow it to shoulder length.

1. If you are not in a bathing suit but still want to look like a mermaid wear lots of blues and greens.
2. If you are allowed, wear blue and green make up and blue finger nail polish.
3. When you look at someone kind of have a relaxed gaze that is not really a stare.
4. Mermaids usually, but not always, have long, luscious hair. It doesn't matter the colour, but try to grow it out. If it's too short, then a pixie cut would go awesome.
5. Wear light, sparkly makeup and a light shade of lip gloss. Remember, mermaids are very natural, so don't go overboard! Wear a small bit of mascara or liquid eyeliner to give you the beautiful look of a mermaid. Wear mood changing nail polish. For a natural "Just got out of the water" look, wear clear lip gloss, pearly white eyeshadow, and clear nailpolish. Spray a light mist of water forma spray bottle into your face form about arms length for a beautiful glowing look. You might want to wear waterproof makeup if you do though!
6. Get a tan- don't over do it though, just a light tan would be best. It has to look natural. You want to look like you spend a lot of time out in the sun.
7. Wear watery colored, flowing clothes. Or in shining textures, your clothes should recall the water of the sea.
8. This look is pretty flashy, so always be cool, collected and confident.
9. Still be slightly mysterious! ;)

Mermaid style: looks

Lo sapevate? Ogni anno a Coney Island, la famosa spiaggia di New York, si celebra la regina delle Sirene, incoronata al termine della Mermaids Parade. Il tutto si svolge in un clima d’altri tempi, in un luogo che sa di mare e di salsedine.
Ed è di questo mood che si nutre l’immaginario delle sirene, creature mitiche tra il terrestre e il marino.
E allora cosa indossare per essere come loro? In realtà di scelta ce n'è, eccome: shorts tempestati di pailettes, a ricreare l’effetto “fishtail”, sandali luccicanti, pochette color argento come le scaglie dei pesci o con incrostazioni di pietre che richiamano lo splendore dei fondali marini.
Tanti elementi silver & gold, molto turchese, qualche dettaglio rosa corallo: sono queste le tinte del look da sirena, super trendy in questa calda estate 2012.
Se invece preferite un approccio meno diretto, provate con gli orecchini a conchiglia dorati oppure con un due pezzi luccicante come i riflessi del mare.
O ancora con una t-shirt nelle sfumature dell'oceano, o un bijou a forma di stella marina.
Per la spiaggia sarete perfette con qualcosa che richiami il verde acqua ed il colore della sabbia: basta un top, oppure il sandalo con pendagli di conchiglie o l’infradito con la decorazione che richiama la spuma del mare.
Infine per le più timide, perchè non provare ad avvicinare questo stile con il make up? Basta uno smalto verde acqua e un lipgloss color corallo per farvi sentire subito vere principesse del mare! ;)

And is this mood that feeds the imagination of mermaids, mythical creatures between terrestrial and marine environment. 

So what to wear to look like them? Really there is plenty of choice, right now: sequined shorts, to simulate the effect of "fishtail", shiny sandals, silver clutches that look like scales of fish or inlaid with stones that recall the splendor of the seabed. 

Many elements in silver & gold, a lot of turquoise and coral pink details: these are the colors of the mermaid look, super trendy in this hot summer 2012. 

If you prefer a less direct approach, try the gold shell earrings or a two-piece that shining like the reflections of the sea. 

Or a t-shirt in shades of the ocean, or jewelry in the shape of starfish. 

On the beach you will look perfect with something that recalls the blue/green of water and the color of the sand:all you need is just a top, or a sandal with shell pendants or flip-flops with decoration reminiscent of the sea foam. 

Finally, for the more shy girls, why not try to approach this style with make up? Just a glaze of green water on the nails and a coral colored lipgloss will make you feel like a very princess of the sea! ;)

Mermaid style: daytime

Volete provare il look da sirena, ma avete paura di sembrare troppo strane? Ecco una piccola guida per assomigliare alla nostra principessa sottomarina preferita ma rimanendo super glam! ;) 
La maggior parte delle ragazze da piccole sognava di essere una principessa delle fiabe e la Sirenetta rimane costantemente una delle preferite. Abbandona tutto quello che ha per amore e senza alcuna garanzia di successo - chi di noi non vorrebbe essere così coraggiosa e temeraria? 
Fortunatamente, non dobbiamo soffrire molto perseguire la tendenza "sirena" di questa estate, il materiale non manca di certo, basta usare solo un pizzico di guidizio nella scelta. 
Karl Lagerfeld ha mandato le modelle in passerella per la primavera / estate 2012 avvolte in leggerissimi abiti bianco perla decorati con ruches che richamano la spuma marina, stivali iridescenti e scarpe in peltro modellato per assomigliare al corallo. I tessuti scintillavano come se fossero stati bagnati, e ricordavano i riflessi multicolori del mare. Uno show estremamente elegante ed etereo. 
In breve, l'essenziale di questo look è apparire come se appartenessimo al mare, perciò le righe marinare rosse e blu ( sempre belle e buone ma in questo caso fuori luogo) vanno bandite. Al contrario, pensate in maniera astratta: al colore del mare più che ai suoi contenuti. 
1. I tagli romantici sono un ottimo punto di partenza. Scegliere un abito o un top con linee fluide, bordi smerlati o strati di leggere balze. In tessuti leggeri e brillanti, come chiffon, seta o cotone spalmato, sarete semplicemente incantevoli. 
2. In termini di colore, bianco, verde pastello, blu, grigio canna di fucile, oro e tonalità perlacee danno un che di magico al look.
3. Non è necessario indossare tutti questi colori insieme. Abbinate quelli più scintillanti con un blazer nero o un paio di jeans indaco. Ricordate che la vita non è una passerella, non importa quanto sia cool un look su carta. 
4. Se non volete rinunciare ai colori scuri, il look da sirena è molto facile da realizzare anche solo con il make up. Provate trecce disordinate oppure onde dei capelli morbide e un pò arruffate abbinate con ombretto glitter e eyeliner nero. Le guance devono  essere fresche e rosee e le labbra il più naturale possibile.

Most little girls dream of being a fairytale princess and the Little Mermaid remains a firm favourite. She gave up everything she had for love - who of us can admit to being as brave or as foolhardy as that?

Mercifully, we don’t have to suffer to reap the benefits of this summer’s mermaid trend - we just have to judiciously separate the wheat from the chaff. 

Karl Lagerfeld sent models down the runway for Spring/Summer 2012 in pearly white sheened dresses, ruffled seafoam separates, iridescent pewter boots and shoes moulded to look like coral. Fabric sparkled as if slick with wetness, reminiscent of the multi-hued reflection of the ocean.  The show was ladylike and serene.

In short, we want to look like we belong in the sea, not the permanent roster of Popeye characters.  Bold, red and navy nautical stripes are well and good, but they have no place here.  Instead, think abstractly.  Be the colour of the sea, not the contents of the sea. 

1.  Romantic shapes are a great place to start.  Choose a dress or top with flowing lines, scalloped edges or layers of light flounces.  Fabric that is slightly sheer or has a shimmering quality, like chiffon, coated cotton or silk, will be just lovely.

2.  In terms of colour, white, pastel greens, blues, gunmetal grey and pearly sheens will all look magical.

3.  It’s not necessary to wear all these colours together.  Break up your shimmering, light catching items with a black blazer or a pair of indigo jeans.  Life is not a catwalk, no matter how hard we pretend.

4.  If you can’t give up dark colours, mermaid beauty is very easy to execute.  Untidy side plaits, tousled waves and messy bedhead hair pulled back with a simple alice band are easily paired with shimmer or glitter eyeshadow ringed with black liner.  Cheeks should be fresh and flushed and lips should also be as natural as possible.
