Se c'è un tessuto che è sinonimo di lusso e decadenza, questo è il velluto. 

Che si tratti del rivestimento cremisi di una veste reale o dell'ornamento di un abito di una mondana del XVIII secolo, questo tessuto regale ha una lunga storia di cavalcate con le alte sfere della società. 

Per fortuna, al giorno d'oggi, è una tendenza che si è democratizzata, tuttavia, quando viene indossato, può ancora dare a chi lo indossa quell'estetica regale precedentemente riservata all'élite della società.
