OOTD: Use Your Winter Neutrals to Light Up Your Winter

Molti dei miei outfit recenti si sono concentrati sui colori neutri e ho notato come dettagli e gioielli risaltino e si facciano notare molto di più  su uno sfondo neutro. 

Il vero segreto per evitare che un outfit neutro non risulti noioso

sta nell’aggiungere texture diverse.

 Pensate al camoscio, alla lana o alla seta....

Un modo semplice per costruire un look neutro è selezionare tre colori neutri che vi piacciono e che vi stanno bene e poi iniziare ad assemblare i capi che avete nel guardaroba in questi toni.

Per quanto mi riguarda, di solito indosso il nero solo per esaltare i colori, e, come neutri, in inverno preferisco decisamente le tonalità più morbide e chiare del cammello, del grigio e del bianco: sono proprio questi i colori neutri che costituiscono la spina dorsale del mio guardaroba, molto più del nero o del blu. 

Ricordate comunque che i colori scuri rimpiccioliscono la figura e contribuiscono a farvi sembrare più sottili, mentre i colori chiari allargano e tendono a farvi sembrare più piene.

Several of my recent outfits have focused on neutrals and I’ve noticed how jewelry pops against a neutral background and makes a statement. 

Adding texture to a neutral outfit keeps it from looking boring: think suede, wool, or silk.

An easy way to build a neutral wardrobe is to select three neutral colors you like and look good on you. Then begin to assemble wardrobe staples in these neutral colors.

Think black is too harsh? substitute with navy. 

For me, I usually wear black to enhance colors, and as neutals, come winter I definitely prefer the softer and lighter shades camel, gray, and white: really these are the neutral colors that are the backbone of my wardrobe more than black or blue. 

But remember: dark colors shrink the figure and help make you look thinner while light colors enlarge and tend make look bigger.
